Welcome to Glen Oak Primary School

Welcome to Glen Oak Primary School ALL STAR Homepage. We are very glad to have you visit. Glen Oak School is located in Peoria’s East Bluff. The very first Glen Oak School was located in a frame house at 903 E. Frye Avenue. In 1898, Glen Oak School opened in a three-room frame building at the corner of Atlantic and Republic Streets. The present building was designed and built in 1907. There were nine teachers and the principal and housed 232 students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade. Today Glen Oak School houses approximately 500 Pre-K to 5th grade students, 37 teachers, home facilitator, family and school liaison office and custodial staff, a principal and assistant principal. We are very proud of our highly qualified staff at Glen Oak. Our teachers bring a great deal of experience to our school with the average teaching experience of fifteen years. Our teachers are students themselves and continue to update their skills and knowledge. Our staff is dedicated to providing the best education possible for our students. We strive to provide a positive learning environment that meets the individual needs of each student. We provide many before and after school activities to meet the needs of the whole child. Student shave the opportunities to participate in the 4-H Club, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, T.O.Y.S., extended day classes, basketball, cheerleading, after school tutoring programs, and student council. As parents and family members you clearly have the greatest impact on your child. As educators we encourage you to be part of our child’s education at Glen Oak. We look forward to working with you to provide the best education for your child.
